Mold Landscapes
Decay

The starting point for this photographic work is an inner feeling. A feeling of loss, turmoil and powerlessness in today's world, triggered by the decay of the earth and its inhabitants. In a small way, it reflects on the duality of life and death and its ambivalent meaning. When mould eats away at a piece of fruit, the foul smell, the process of decay and the unappetising appearance make us think of the end of the fruit. But the mould only begins to ‘live’ when a piece of fruit decays and ultimately becomes fertile soil.
